Dr. MohXXX,
Thanks very much for recommending to my brother and me to use Tammy Crutcher to help us find new living accommodations for my parents, Scott and Mady G. Tammy worked hard to find us some great options that fit within our budget. We have visited a great group home for them that we would have never seen on our own and got if for affordable monthly rent. Tammy is very knowledgeable of the options for senior living in the area and was a tremendous help in our search to find the best place for my aging parents.
Sincerely,
Cheri C.

Meet Scott Fischer of Options for Senior Living
Scott had an awesome opportunity to highlight Options and tell his story with Voyage Phoenix. We are so excited to be recognized my so many different outlets for our hard work and doing what we love to do!

Please take a moment to read the article, and thanks for supporting the Options Team!

Today we’d like to introduce you to Scott Fischer.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Scott. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.

After graduating from Arizona State University in 1986 with my bachelor’s in nursing, I spent close to 20 years serving our local health care system in a variety of capacities.

Mental health and education were my primary fields of practice during that time frame. I was a nursing and clinical director for a variety of acute and residential care psychiatric facilities and I was on the faculty of Mesa Community and Gateway Colleges in the schools of Nursing for five years as well. In 2000, I began what became the transition into my current field of senior referral and placement, when I worked as a home health nurse that served clients in their homes under their Medicare benefits, primarily for the management of their symptoms related to a diagnosis of dementia.

The Many Benefits of Music for Senior Citizens

Thank you to Karen Weeks for contributing to our Blog content and being a good community partner with the Options Team. As you will see, 'Music isn’t only fun, it also has a lot of cognitive and physical benefits some people may not know about.'

Making Music a Part of Your Life

Because of all the great benefits, it is important to use music on a daily basis to stimulate the brain and increase mental cognition. And there are lots of ways to do this. Instead of TV noise in the background when handling everyday tasks, why not put in your favorite CD? You can also play your favorite music while showering, before bed and upon waking. It is important to have it readily available and make a habit of turning it on.

You can also take the music outside of your home by learning to play an instrument or attending community concerts. Not only will that boost your brainpower, but it will also help you to socialize and stay involved with other people. Find ways to make music a part of your life every day.

More Information on HB 2529

A letter was sent out by an online service with their solution to HB 2529. Chuck Bongiovanni, President of the National Placement & Referral Alliance wrote this to their members this week. Options supports HB 2529 and will continue our position to stand up, support and protect our seniors and the families we serve.

NPRA’s Position:

Arizona House Bill 2529 became law with an enforcement date of August 3rd, 2018. An online service recently sent a letter (see full letter below) to all providers in Arizona, stating they would be forced to charge all Arizona providers “a legislative compliance surcharge” of $125 per move-in. This payment would be required until the bill is overturned or amended. They stated that the law goes beyond disclosure and introduces unnecessary regulatory and recordation requirements on them.
