We had a great October and happy to share our
passion and experiences with you!
Options for Senior Living was a proud sponsor of the PASRS Conference on October 26th at The Beatitudes Campus.
While the conference was bittersweet for Scott as he turned the gavel over to incoming PASRS President Thom Corrigan, the conference was a huge success. With over 200 attendees, 35 exhibitors, 14 speakers and the highlight of the afternoon was the keynote speaker - Harry Mitchell, former US Congressman.
He delivered a speech - The Compassionate Journey about him and his wife Marianne, who today lives with dementia. Harry brought light to a real person, living the life of a sidekick caregiver and his challenges and joys through it all!
This was a real honor for all attendees!

Growing up, we captured time by the seasons, especially summer break. As we reflect back, we wonder where the time has gone and memories of days gone by and thoughts of days to be swirl around us, allowing us to look back in reflection and forward with anticipation.
What about the present? We certainly wonder how we got here and where we’re going? In some way, we have new perspectives and ideas that influence our daily life, many times never realizing the role they will play in our past and future.
Over the last several years, I’ve had the opportunity to capture life in an entirely new light — my world as a service provider and placement professional to seniors intersected with my personal life. When my role as a son shifted to being my mother’s primary protector, I asked myself at that time — where’s the break from being a son and being a care manager for my mother, Kathy?
Today, I am enlightened to where I came from, where I am now, and the future for my family, including my mom and myself. I share this with you from my real life experience, my reflection as I give a new kind of love to my mom, and my mom’s perspective and feelings as well. I like to think of it as a new season that bears new fruit, Read More!

Services usually include nursing and other healthcare services, meals, housekeeping, emergency assistance, personal care needs, wellness programs, recreational and social activities, 24-hour security, building, and grounds maintenance. Worry-free living. What's not to like? Today, there are approximately 1900 CCRCs in the United States located in a range of geographical areas from urban to suburban even rural. Roughly half are faith-based with the majority, 82%, not-for-profit sponsorship. Most have fewer than 300 units. Contracts differ ... CCRCs come in three forms: Type A, Type B and Type C. Costs and contracts vary by type and it is important to be clear about which services are included in the fees and which services are available at additional cost. Some offer insurance to cover healthcare needs. Others require residents to have insurance. Still, others require pre-payment arrangements for care costs. And some guarantee only the availability of care resources which means that all costs must be paid by the resident, Read More!
