Scott M. Fischer, BSN

As I take time to reflect this month I am amazed at all the things that have happened and how thankful I am. I just celebrated my 1st anniversary this past week. It was a year ago that Scott said "I do" to Stacey and Stacey said "I do" to me and to working for Options. What a wonderful anniversary for Options, Stacey and myself.

I am humbled and honored to be going to Tucson at the end of this month to possibly expand PASRS. What started out 5 years ago between just a few close friends and myself to make a small difference and clean up the industry we made a living in has now moved in a new direction. We have had such a great outpouring of support locally, a new part of the state would like to hear more about the difference they can make in their community as well. Steven Chung, David Rosenthal and myself will meet with a group of industry leaders on the 29th and introduce a new community to PASRS. This would not be possible without so many people and the support of all of our members here at home. From the bottom of my heart I thank you for believing in this mission.

Stacey and her girls, Molly and Leah, will be heading to Malawi, Africa this June. They will be serving on a mission with their church. Through the Live, Love campaign that started in Chandler and has reached across the world Stacey and the girls are so excited to serve and grow. Molly will be with the high school group touring all over Malawi and Stacey and Leah will be working in an orphanage helping children who have lost their parents. They ask for your prayers and support as they take on this special life changing experience. If you would like to donate to this special cause please talk to Stacey or you can go to:

Tammy will be celebrating her 4 year anniversary with Options this May. To celebrate, she will be taking the month off to enjoy to enjoy her new baby. What a blessing it will be. We promise more information will follow soon.

FALL PREVENTION TIPS
-Make an appointment with your doctor
Begin your fall-prevention plan with an appointment with your doctor. Medications and health conditions can lead to falls.
-Keep moving
Physical activities can go a long way to preventing falls, they improve strength, balance, coordination and flexibility.
-Wear sensible shoes
High heels, flip flops, slippers can make you slip and stumble.
-Remove home hazards
Remove boxes, cords, newspapers from walkways. Use nonslip mats in your shower and tub. Store everyday necessities within easy reach.
-Light up your living space
Place night lights in bedroom, bathroom and hallways. Place a lamp within reach of your bed for middle-of-the night needs.
-Use assistive devices
If needed or recommended by a doctor consider, hand rails, a raised toilet seat, grab bars, a plastic chair for a shower
