Why Choose Us?
Industry Leadership
Our ownership brings over 35 years of experience and dedication to an industry that is largely unlicensed and unregulated. We co-founded both PASRS and the NPRA, pioneering best practices, ethics, professionalism, and certification at both local and national levels.
Industry Influence
We have trained multiple senior referral and placement agencies nationwide. Our Options University Boot Camp continues to train and support new businesses launching nationwide, equipping them to assist families navigating the aging journey of a loved one.
Core Values
Family First, Quality in Every Aspect, Lead with Understanding and Passion, Trust as Our Reward, and Honor Always.
Family Advocacy
For over two decades, we have been a voice for issues impacting families. We co-hosted our own radio program, Planning Past 50, and have been guests on numerous radio shows and podcasts, including Networking AZ and Health Futures. We have spoken at various conferences and events, including the Desert Southwest Conference for the Arizona Alzheimer’s Association (multiple times), the PASRS annual conferences, and the Senior Home Coach National Association.
Community Impact
We were nominated for the prestigious Better Business Bureau’s Ethics Torch Award and were finalists in 2021. From 2015 to 2022, we served on the Arizona Attorney General’s Health and Safety Committee, advocating for and developing public policy to support aging Arizonans.
Real-Life Experience
We are the prototypical adult children of the sandwich generation, balancing the demands of launching our own children, cherishing our grandchildren, and supporting our parents as they navigate the complexities of aging. It can be exhausting and overwhelming—we understand this personally. We are here for you. We get it.

We serve Maricopa, Pinal, Gila and Yavapai Counties
Options for Senior Living was established in 2003 by Scott M. Fischer, who serves as our Founder, CEO and all-around mentor. We are a family-owned business founded on the principle of serving people and helping families who are at a critical time in their lives and need assistance navigating Scottsdale and Phoenix’s assisted living, independent living, and memory care communities.
The Industry
Many placement and referral agents work without sufficient training or any certifications. As there is no governance or regulation, there are no governing bodies or watchdog organizations to oversee the senior referral industry as a whole. Due to the lack of barriers to entry into this marketplace, the low cost of operations, and the potential to generate high profits for owners, fly-by-night agencies have proliferated over the past decade.
The result? Countless horror stories of vulnerable seniors being exploited, placed in substandard facilities where they are abused, neglected, or even scammed out of their retirement savings altogether.
