Rita McBride graduated cum laude from San Jose State University in Recreation and Leisure Studies. After 20 years in the travel and hospitality industry, including managing a civic center in Virginia, she was recruited into the healthcare arena. Her concentration in the field includes developing both sides of helping seniors during times of transition. First, with a non-medical home care agency whose mission was to allow seniors to age safely in their own homes. Then, over the last 15 years, she has helped families when it became necessary to move to assistance outside their homes. She is the owner of A Better Solution for Senior Living, LLC, a placement agency dedicated to finding the ideal living solution for each individual.

She is one of the original founders of the Professional Association of Senior Referral Specialists (PASRS), having seen the value for an association of professional peers to address best practices and a vision for the industry. She is co-chair of the Public and Professional Education committee with Maricopa Elder Abuse Prevention Alliance (MEAPA) and serves on the Memory Alliance Committee (MAC) through the Arizona chapter of Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA).
